I recently got laid off from my job and it required heavy lifting/labor. My back had been tense throughout this temp job and got worse during my last week on the job. I relied on biofreeze to relieve the hurting. Now as each day has gone by it's gotten so poor. My lower back has severe pain, it radiates to my buttocks, into my thighs/legs, hips, I can barely move or walk. Sitting doesn't help neither does laying down with a lot of pillows. Heating pad won't work and ice treatment doesn't work. And now various muscles are cramping. Arms, shoulder blades, middle of my back. I can't stand on gratuity toes or heels, can barely lift my legs up to walk without assistance. I went to a health clinic and the doc said he thinks its a herniated disc affecting the sciatic nerve so they gave me some shots in my hip (they didn't work) and the muscle relaxants (strongest they had) and oxycodone does not work at all. The pills make me sick and don't relieve any of the pain. What do you guys think this could be??? I'm scared it could be more serious.
i am 16 and have a herniated disc and i know what your feeling no pain meds, ice, or heat has worked... cortisone shots give me a temporary fix but the pain is still there... im relying on physical therapy and the rest of my shots to fix it as i dont wanna receive surgery (
The root cause of most of this symptom is Muscle Imbalances. A muscle imbalance happens when you have over-developed and tight muscles in one area of your body, while the opposing muscles are weaker and stretched out of their normal position. Medication, back massages and even work out and stretches will not receive you sciatic hurting relief! The only way to truly solve this is returning the muscle balance back.
Why the Traditional Treatments Don Work
The traditional treatments include Nsaids drugs, Cortisone injections, ultrasound, exercise and electrical stimulation. These treatments do not address the muscle imbalance the root of the trouble. That why most people do not find relief and suffer for years.
