I am just now 39 yrs old. I had to have lumbar fusion surgery back in July. I am still having a lot of issues with my back, especially the muscle spasms. My knees, wrists, and hands hurt all the time. The rheumatologist tells me that I have an advanced form of osteoarthritis All I know is that I hurt A Lot all the time and Celebrex helps more than Alieve. I read exercise, but I can't sit or stand for very long at a time, due to my back knees. I am newly diagnosed and trying to find any information that I can. I have searched the internet over and over.
What else can I do to alleviate some of the hurting and to cope better?

One object you could try as far as exercise is swimming. It is very low affect and won't hurt your back as much. Whether you aren't in physical therapy, you may want to consider going. A Pt can help you select exercises that will help you and can give you advice as far as pain relief and joint protection.
